Jane’s SANE Success: Motivated and Moving!

“No counting, no weighing, and measuring!”

There were several things together that made me realize I needed to take action and make some changes in my life; my son’s wedding, adventure travel trips, wanting to keep up with the grandkids and impending retirement.

Since discovering SANE, I feel a sense of accomplishment after having failed so often before. I feel better physically and mentally. I have the motivation to tackle other issues now as well!

Some of the things that I love about SANE compared to other programs I’ve tried in the past is that there is no counting, no weighing, and measuring. They have a truly supportive community and we focus on Progress, not perfection!

Lavanya’s SANE Story: From Excess Weight and Knee Pain to Feeling Stronger and Being Pain Free!

I realized that I needed to make a change when my excess weight started causing knee pain. Since I started SANE, I feel stronger.  Also, my hair and skin are healthier.

SANE is different from anything else that I have tried in that I can eat as much as I want.  I find it easy to stay motivated and my goals are achievable.

The number one piece of advice I would give someone just starting on their SANE journey is to start slow, and one change at a time and then incorporate it fully. Focus on eating the right foods and exercising, and everything else will fall into place.

Jennifer’s SANE Story: Fed Up to Feeling Great and Full of Energy

I have tried every diet, but eventually gained all the weight back. I have always been healthy and active, but I could not stop gaining weight unless I drastically decreased my food intake. So, after starting a nutrition health coaching program, I decided I wanted to get healthy once and for all, and I joined SANE. I now have so much energy, I don’t have to worry about overeating and I am never hungry.

What makes SANE different from other programs I have tried is that I don’t have to count calories, I don’t have to worry about eating too much and I don’t have to kill myself with a ridiculous exercise regimen.

My favorite SANE meal is lean chicken or fish on a bed of greens with a side of sauteed veggies. For dessert, the “chocolate chunk bars” in Jonathon’s dessert cookbook are to die for.

The best tip I can offer to others is not to be afraid to eat healthy fats; they will help you feel full. And my one piece of advice to someone who has just started their SANE journey is this: trust the plan, it works!

Andrew’s SANE Story: From Poor Health to Enjoying Life

After 40 years of trying to lose weight, and having poor health, I realized that I needed to make a change in my life. Since I joined SANE, my A1C levels have stabilized and I have finally found a way to eat my green leafy veggies. And I can now see the benefits of eccentric exercising.

SANE is different from other things I have tried in that the program is so flexible. Also, the coaching is better; I love the training and live coaching sessions.

The secret to losing inches with SANE, I think, is eating lots of vegetables, balanced with protein and whole fats. If you do that, and follow the training and video coaching, you will succeed!

There wasn’t one event that compelled me to take action in my life. I was just tired of being tired. Since discovering SANE I’ve realized all the misgivings I had about the standard food pyramid have been validated. Jonathan did the research to prove the best way to eat. Now I have a plan to eat better and green smoothies are a way of life!

SANE makes sense! It’s a real, doable way of life. The Calorie Myth is the crux of all that’s bad about other diets.

My advice to those just starting or thinking about going SANE, just try ONE piece of advice from Jonathan. Start with one step and then add another. Pick something easy and ADD to your lifestyle! Don’t try omitting immediately.

Annette’s In Progress SANE Story – A Balanced Perspective

Discovering SANE has been a life changer for me. I have made efforts to address my health, my weight, and my diabetes in the past, before being introduced to SANE, but, I didn’t realize what I was doing, the starvation and yo-yo dieting, had done more damage than good and I was not healing from the inside out. I also wanted something that would become second nature to me. SANE is proving to be just what I need.

In a short time, my energy levels are higher, my clothes are fitting better, and it’s great to know that I can be successful in the long term. There is no turning back!

SANE is different from anything else that I have tried in the past in that I have been able to throw my scale away. I have discovered that certain foods that I thought were bad for me are actually healthy for me to eat, i.e. whole food fats. The approach provides a balanced perspective for me.

Rose’s SANE Success Story – Life Changing *Updated Down 31 Pounds!

Earlier this year at a doctor visit, I discovered that my A1C had reached its highest level ever, with medication. That was when I realized that I had to make a major change in my life and do things differently.

Since discovering SANE, my mood is better, my energy levels are amazing and I feel great all over. My clothes are fitting better and everyone is telling me that I look great!

SANE is different from anything else that I have tried in that it is a 30-year plan, not a 30 day one, and it is not a diet. It’s an entire life change that you can embrace. It’s not a rigid program, it’s flexible and something that I can make my own.

The number one piece of advice that I would offer someone who is just starting their SANE journey is not to get overwhelmed. There is time to learn things at your own pace. ~Rose H.

Update 9/20/2019

Before SANE, I had issues with extra weight, low energy, low endurance, and not much strength. This was in addition to low motivation, even with my diabetes diagnosis. Overall, I just didn’t feel that good.

My “ah-ha” moment occurred when my A1C reached a level that caused me to say, “I’ve got to do something about this”. I wanted to reverse that trend to avoid typical diabetic consequences.

I then started the SANE program which included reading material, recording meals and receiving support including becoming active in the community of members who were in the SANE program. I also found a partner living close by who worked with me on the program. We did it together.

My SANE day typically includes at least 2 meals and 1 to 2 smoothies, plus snacks when needed. I never go hungry

The biggest success that I have celebrated since joining SANE is that to date, I have lost 31 pounds. I have lost inches across all traditional measurements and most importantly, I feel great! This has me going in a good direction and I don’t want to stop!

SANE coaches have played a part in my success by their support and their constantly encouraging me to read resources, record meals and gain additional support by engaging with members in the Community Forum.

A tip that I would offer for SANE success would be to have a friend join the program with you.  My friend is going through the program with me; we hold each other accountable.  

If I could talk to myself 3 or 4 years before I began my journey,  I would say that there is a program out there that can really help to improve you. It can have you ‘loving yourself slim. All you need to do is work on it.

Now that I have gone SANE, my life is awesome! This impacts how I feel about the day and I look forward to every day, with the variety of food that it includes. I am now in a state of health that allows me to do the things I love to do.
