This is must-have information. After all, a Centers for Disease Control study suggests nearly 89% of us are overweight, obese, diabetic, pre-diabetes, diabese, or pre-diabese. Moreover, an estimated 1.5 million new cases of diabetes are diagnosed every year among U.S. adults.

If it sounds like the problem is getting worse, not better, you’re absolutely right. But, as you’ll see in this Diabesity Weight Loss and Hormonal Healing Solutions Series Program, there are simple steps you can take to fix it — permanently — for yourself and your loved ones.

Here is a recap of some of the highlights of this Diabetes docu-series – episode 3.

Diabesity Documentary – Episode 3 – Watch as Jonathan Explains How Brain Inflammation Raises Setpoint Weight

When you feel hungry, you probably think about your stomach. But did you know the feeling of hunger is all in your head? It’s true. As Jonathan explains in the Diabesity movie module/episode 3, the link between your head and your stomach is the hypothalamus, an almond-sized structure located deep within your brain.

The hypothalamus serves a very vital function: the regulation and control of your metabolism.

If the hypothalamus becomes inflamed, your setpoint goes up. You will then likely develop diabesity.

Now, inflammation is not necessarily a bad thing. It goes on throughout your body in various degrees and is a vital part of the healing process. When you’re injured or ill, your body wants to repair itself. Inflammation is part of this process.

Inflammation only turns into a problem if it continues for too long. This is called “chronic” inflammation. This can damage your organs and is the underlying cause of many serious health problems. Chronic inflammation can cause:

  • Heart Disease
  • Alzheimer’s
  • Cancer
  • Dementia
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Diabesity

Inflammation goes into overdrive for a variety of reasons, including:

  • Low-Quality Food
  • Excessive Stress
  • Lack of Sleep
  • Feeling Ashamed or Alone

Neurological Inflammation and Obesity: Scientific Evidence Explained in The Diabesity Documentary Series – Episode 3

The link between neurological inflammation and obesity isn’t a theory. Science proves this theory. Researchers at Harvard, the University of Washington, and other acclaimed institutions have discovered that an inflamed hypothalamus is one of the primary causes of overweight and obesity.

In a 2012 study, when humans and rodents were restricted to an inSANE diet, their brains began to show evidence of inflammation in just 24 hours. If they kept eating inSANEly, the hypothalamus became seriously inflamed and showed structural damage. The study also found that eating more SANE foods reduced inflammation in the brain.

How does neurological inflammation cause weight gain, though?

Research shows neurological inflammation hijacks the normal operation of two key hormones, leptin and insulin. In a healthy body, these hormones act as messengers to regulate appetite and eating. But when they are disrupted, they can’t effectively carry out their jobs. This leads to obesity, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.

And that’s not the only way neurological inflammation destroys your weight-loss efforts. Research shows it also negatively affects your willpower.

Neurological Inflammation Ruining Willpower? See the Shocking Explanation in Diabesity Docu-Series – Episode 3

If you’re frustrated by your lack of willpower, your seeming inability to say “no” to low-quality carbs and sugary desserts, Jonathan wants you to know this:

It is NOT your fault.

Turns out, your brain has A LOT to do with willpower. And this has nothing to do with thought. It has everything to do with neurology. You see, neurological inflammation also kills off neurons in areas of the brain the involve willpower.

Yes…willpower. That thing we’ve been taught is something we exert through sheer force of will is actually not something we necessarily control. How does the brain influence willpower? Well, it works like this:

When neurological inflammation destroys neurons, certain brain chemicals become erratic and out of balance. Your brain goes into a stimulus-seeking mode that causes intense cravings. Regardless of your best intentions, you become consumed by a longing to devour inSANE foods.

In the Diabesity movie – episode 3, Jonathan reveals the foods scientifically proven to cause neurological inflammation, killing off neurons in the brain that destroys willpower and raises your setpoint weight. He lists the highly inflammatory foods that can ruin your weight loss efforts and increase your risk for diabetes.

And more importantly, Jonathan reveals the foods that will reduce and eliminate neurological inflammation. These foods are the most potent anti-inflammatory foods in existence, and they’re yummy, too! As Jonathan explains, “When you enjoy a saner approach to eating and enjoy so many high-quality whole foods that you are too full for inSANE low-quality foods, you will reverse the damage neurological inflammation causes, freeing yourself from cravings forever.”

It is Not Your Fault

The takeaway from this section of the diabesity documentary – episode 1 is that we now have scientific proof for why sticking to traditional calorie counting starvation diets is so difficult. Neurological inflammation is sabotaging your efforts. Again, it is NOT an effort or character weakness. It is a neurological inflammation and medical problem!

Gut Bacteria and Diabesity: Discover the Amazing Way Your Gut Bacteria Affects Setpoint in the Diabesity Docu-Series – Episode 3

Earlier, Jonathan discussed the role your brain and your hormones play in controlling your setpoint and, therefore, in the prevention and reversal of diabesity. In this section of the diabesity documentary series – episode 3, Jonathan dives deep into the next piece of the puzzle: the workings of your gut.

Your body is composed of an estimated 100 trillion cells, but only about 10 percent of them are human. That’s right, most of you…isn’t you at all! About 90% of the cells that make up YOU are bacteria. Most of these bacteria live in your gut.

Bacteria residing in your gut and digestive tract exert a major influence on your setpoint and therefore on your vulnerability to diabesity. Making up what scientists call the “gut microbiota,” these bacteria are responsible for a variety of tasks.

First, they help extract calories from the food you eat. Second, they store these calories for later use as body fat. Third, some of those microbes have a profound impact on neurological inflammation and whether or not you develop diabesity.

Consider this: experiments on mice given gut bacteria from people with diabesity showed that the mice became fatter than mice who were given microbes from people without diabesity. That’s right…transplanting gut bacteria from diabese people into mice made those mice gain weight.

So, as Jonathan says, we need to pay more attention to the microbes living inside us. We need to discover how to make the best use of them to lower setpoint. And that’s exactly what Jonathan teaches you to do in this section of the diabesity series – episode 3.

Again, Quality of Diet is Crucial to Lowering Setpoint

You see, the microbes living in the gut are extremely sensitive to the quality of the food we eat. In fact, it’s the type of foods you eat that determines the type of bacteria that live in your gut. High-quality SANE foods lead to high-quality setpoint-lowering gut bacteria. Low-quality inSANE food, by contrast, leads to setpoint-elevating bacteria.

There is way too much exciting information to share in this recap. Be sure to watch the diabesity docu-series – episode 3 for an in-depth discussion of how gut bacteria affect setpoint. Watch as Jonathan and Doctors from the Harvard Medical School discuss:

  • Why healing your gut microbes is easier than you think and more important than you could imagine for your health.
  • The delicious foods that can fix up your gut health and supercharge your diabesity defenses.
  • Why your cravings may not be your cravings at all. They may be what your gut bacteria are craving!
  • The types of bacteria that raise — and lower — your setpoint.
  • The amazingly easy way to feed the good and starve the bad gut bacteria.

The Science of Willpower and Setpoint

The conventional dieting “wisdom” tells you that willpower is the number one key to your success. But it is a scientific fact that willpower cannot lead to enjoyable and lasting weight loss. Period. The definition of willpower is the ability to force yourself to do something you do not enjoy. That isn’t sustainable.

This doesn’t mean that willpower is bad or that zero willpower is required to lower your setpoint and avoid or reverse diabesity. However, it does mean that any plan promising enjoyable and lasting results must require less willpower (not more) over time. For instance, the longer you are on a starvation diet, the more willpower it takes to stay on that diet. When you start eating SANE foods, however, you may not like some of them at first. But eventually, you’ll start liking them. Soon, it won’t take any willpower at all to force yourself to eat those foods. SANE eating is sustainable because it eventually doesn’t take any willpower to maintain. Starvation dieting is just the opposite.

In addition, you can develop willpower and strengthened it just like a muscle. In this episode of the diabesity docu-series, Jonathan gives you a groundbreaking tip on how you can focus your willpower on developing willpower.

Strengthening Willpower the SANE Way

diabesity-solutions-series-Episode-3-replay-recapHere’s how this works: The area of your brain called the prefrontal cortex affects willpower. … It controls learning, memory, and decision-making, and it’s highly connected to other brain regions, such as those involved with addictions and rewards. Specifically, the cells in the middle of your prefrontal cortex help you say yes to your goals and no to your temptations. The faster these brain cells “fire,” or transmit messages to other brain cells, the better you are at resisting temptation. If these brain cells become inflamed, they will not fire as quickly, and your willpower goes down.

Exerting willpower forces your brain to expend a lot of energy in the form of glucose, which it may not have if you are hungry or unable to metabolize glucose as efficiently due to poor sleep or stress. Starvation and stress wreak havoc in the prefrontal cortex. It’s as if you have brain damage in areas in which you need self-control. This is why people on diets often feel like people who are trying to give up smoking: on edge, easily annoyed, snapping at loved ones, and more.

But if you eat a SANE diet, you are never hungry or feel deprived. If you lead a SANE lifestyle, you are able to de-stress as needed, and you get plenty of sleep. The result? Your willpower increases. You now have the strength to resist inSANE foods without even trying!

Like with everything in the Diabesity Weight Loss and Hormonal Healing Solutions Series Program, this concept of focusing willpower on developing willpower has been scientifically proven to be effective. It is the science of heart rate variability (HRV).

In this Diabesity movie – episode 3, you’ll discover:

  • How to tap into the science of heart rate variability (HRV) to increase your ability to create positive new habits that lead to lifelong health and happiness.
  • Plus, simple and fun strategies that develop and strengthen your willpower.
