Sally’s In Progress SANE Story – From Pre-diabetic to Normal

Seven years ago my husband, Sam, passed away. In the first year after his death, I lost seventy pounds and kept it off for a year. Then I moved into a senior apartment. They serve desserts frequently—cake or cookies sometimes as often as three times a day. My first years I gained forty pounds. I tried several diets over the next few years and was eventually diagnosed as prediabetic.  That was the tipping point that made me realize that I needed to make a major change in my life and join the SANE program.

Since joining SANE, I have lost two inches from my waist and at my last physical, all of my test results are in the normal range.  I have access to healthy, delicious recipes and have found a lifestyle that I can live with for the rest of my life.

SANE is different from anything that I have tried in the past because of the top-notch coaching I have received.  It also has an informative and fun Step by Step learning program that I completed last month. I have finally found a diet that I can stick to and I know that I will not gain the weight back.  Life is good.

The number one piece of advice that I would offer someone who is just starting out on their SANE journey is to stick to the program and listen to the advice of others.

I would also like to share my gratitude for this amazing program. ~ Sally B.

Frigga’s SANE Success Story -Loving Renewed Energy

I joined SANE primarily for my wife, who was in a pre-diabetic situation and gaining weight without any control.

Since discovering SANE, I have more energy for daily affairs.  I no longer feel lethargic after eating pizza or bread. Preparing such a large amount of vegetables makes me happy, funny and in a better mood.  And SANE is different from anything that I have tried in the past in that you can eat as much as you want and still lose weight.

The number one piece of advice that I would offer someone who is just embarking on their SANE journey is not to focus on what you can’t have; play with combinations of the food that you can have and be creative.

I read a really great book that spoke about the body depositing overwhelming emotions in a special area that are stored. The body then puts further “dirt” on, often as fats or as real dirt. By the process of losing weight with the SANE program, the old dirt could come up again as layers are removed – including the old ex-overwhelming emotions – with the chance to be felt now and the chance to let them go and heal. ~Frigga W.

Marilyn’s In Progress SANE Story – Tossing Out Restrictions

At the beginning of this year (2019), I knew that it was time for me to find an approach that could provide sustainable health options, as well as becoming fit and energetic.

Since discovering SANE, I can eat normally and lose weight without needing to follow a restrictive diet. The more I eat that is healthy, the more I lose and I don’t need to be perfect for it to work.

SANE is different from anything else that I have tried in the past in that I have the freedom to choose from many different varieties of foods. I enjoy the ability to work with coaches. I also like the variety of resources that are available.

The number one piece of advice that I would offer someone who is just starting on their SANE journey is to just do it. Get on the program and learn to enjoy it! ~ Marilyn P.

Rodney’s In Progress Story – Lower A1C and Better Health!

During a visit to the doctor to manage my asthma, he discovered that my A1C levels were high. I then realized that I had to make some changes in my life and committed to better health because I don’t want to have to stay on meds.

Since discovering SANE, I have lost some weight and am exercising more. And my AIC levels have improved!

SANE is different from anything else that I have tried in the past in that there is a wide variety of recipes and vegetable food choices, along with being able to enjoy smoothies.

The number one piece of advice that I would give someone who is just starting their SANE journey is to not get frustrated with a partner who doesn’t support your SANE eating habits. – Rodney G.

Jeannette’s In Progress Story – Eating Better and Feeling Healthy

I realized that I needed to make a change in my life when I gained a substantial amount of weight after quitting smoking; I found that I had replaced cigarettes with food.  My life is better after discovering SANE because I am learning to eat better and not rely on food as a cigarette replacement.

SANE is different from anything else that I have tried in the past in that it is a program that teaches you how to eat for the rest of your life; it is a better way of eating.  And if you make a mistake, you don’t have to feel guilty, you just get on with it again.

The advice that I would give someone who is just starting out on their SANE journey is to take one day at a time.  Plan out your food and your exercise routine in a time frame that you can handle and don’t stress about it. And don’t stress yourself out about it. ~Jeannette

Jayne’s Story: From Sugar Addicted to Feeling Amazing

High blood sugar is what compelled me to take major action in my life.  Since discovering SANE, the way I eat has changed; my body is glowing with health.  I can wear my “skinny” shorts and I’m never hungry. I’m also no longer addicted to sugar.

SANE is different from anything that I’ve tried in the past as I can eat more and exercise less, but smarter.  Also, the communication forum on the website gives me great insights and encouragement. Sometimes we even laugh together.

The one piece of advice that I would give someone who is just starting their SANE journey is, “baby steps begin every great journey!”

Jane’s SANE Success: Motivated and Moving!

“No counting, no weighing, and measuring!”

There were several things together that made me realize I needed to take action and make some changes in my life; my son’s wedding, adventure travel trips, wanting to keep up with the grandkids and impending retirement.

Since discovering SANE, I feel a sense of accomplishment after having failed so often before. I feel better physically and mentally. I have the motivation to tackle other issues now as well!

Some of the things that I love about SANE compared to other programs I’ve tried in the past is that there is no counting, no weighing, and measuring. They have a truly supportive community and we focus on Progress, not perfection!

If I could tell you just one thing about SANE, know that even when you don’t believe in yourself, others do and they will help! ~ Jane

Lavanya’s SANE Story: From Excess Weight and Knee Pain to Feeling Stronger and Being Pain Free!

I realized that I needed to make a change when my excess weight started causing knee pain. Since I started SANE, I feel stronger.  Also, my hair and skin are healthier.

SANE is different from anything else that I have tried in that I can eat as much as I want.  I find it easy to stay motivated and my goals are achievable.

The number one piece of advice I would give someone just starting on their SANE journey is to start slow, and one change at a time and then incorporate it fully. Focus on eating the right foods and exercising, and everything else will fall into place.

Jennifer’s SANE Story: Fed Up to Feeling Great and Full of Energy

I have tried every diet, but eventually gained all the weight back. I have always been healthy and active, but I could not stop gaining weight unless I drastically decreased my food intake. So, after starting a nutrition health coaching program, I decided I wanted to get healthy once and for all, and I joined SANE. I now have so much energy, I don’t have to worry about overeating and I am never hungry.

What makes SANE different from other programs I have tried is that I don’t have to count calories, I don’t have to worry about eating too much and I don’t have to kill myself with a ridiculous exercise regimen.

My favorite SANE meal is lean chicken or fish on a bed of greens with a side of sauteed veggies. For dessert, the “chocolate chunk bars” in Jonathon’s dessert cookbook are to die for.

The best tip I can offer to others is not to be afraid to eat healthy fats; they will help you feel full. And my one piece of advice to someone who has just started their SANE journey is this: trust the plan, it works!
